That was a very cool looking car that had little track time. I saw it once at Irwindale making a check out pass. It disappeared as quickly as it surfaced. A little late in debuting a Willys as everyone else was going to the late model psyedu funnycar approach with their gassers. But the paint was quite intricate.

Here's an odd duck - appears to be a Holden bodied 5 window Willys Overland coupe....

  7. Love the Ute's. Be nice to find one. Not your everyday barn yard find. Nice.

I have not seen any Thompson stuff, or much Mazmanian. Lots of people don't realize that Jr. Thompson has alot of gas records in his cars back in the day, but he also was partners in the Mazmanian cars and drove many of them to alot of gas records. I have spent some time on the Draglist site and he has quit an impressive amount of records back in the day......here are some pic's of his Willys and some of Mazmanian.

Note on the push truck window in shoe polish "D/L"= Driver License test! I dont think he got the license. Roll bar seemed to hold up though.

I watched the movie tonight and the Coupe in the used car lot was a 39 or 40 Ford. Dead giveaway was the rear 1/4 windows.

A real 1940 ute even though the front clip may not be original to the vehicle. The rear windows on the 1940 and 1941 Holden bodied utes have a downward slope to them whereas the 1937-1939 Holden bodied utes are straight like the US coupes....

Question: Is that one of the McLander brother's cars from 20 plus years ago ?

I love these old Movie pics ! There's a movie that apparently has a Model 99 in it as well . It looks like a 77 to me but they say it's a 99 , you be the Judge.

Is this an OK plc to say that I have offered one of my 1940 Coupes for sale for $16,000 ? A steel shell with fiberglass bolt ons . PM me if anyone is interested ( pics in my album ). Sorry if this wasn't the right time or plc.

The Miracle of Morgans Creek 1944, another two tone. Could be a Taxi? It has the Deluxe wrap around rear bumper and looks like a 1942 model.
