YES, that picture was taken at Hershey a few years ago. I think I remember hearing it sold. There was a a LOT of damage!

I think I remember seeing this car on an Argentinian classic car website and it was subsequently imported to the U.S.

I haven't posted any pics over here in a while, so I figured I would post some of the better stuff I've scrounged off the web over the last few months.

Love the stance on this Bowlan & Bates car.

I think this is an earlier shot of the same car. Same wheels, same hood scoop.

    All for now.

Great new(old) pictures, I can't get enough of them. The Doug's Used Car's Willys sits in a pole barn about 20 minutes from me, and the owner is getting around to a re-do after many years and many other projects. The fella in the picture (#2619) is also a friend, but I did not know him when he was that young and owned that coupe...he still has a Willys, but not that one, and not a coupe. Small world...thanks. By the way where did you get those pictures...I have never seen them anywhere before?

I think I found those pics on Flickr. Just some random pics that came up in a search. Glad you liked the pics and glad to hear the car still exists.

I knew the paint reminded me of the Antelope Valley car, but I thought it stayed in California, and the Doug's Used Cars Willys says Minnesota on the door. I had heard originally that the Antelope Valley car was one of Al Tschida (sp?) old cars. I've got some other photos of the Antelope Valley and what ever it was before. I'll see what I can dig up.

  22. Willys Rule & Dave,
This is going to be fun...talked to my friend that now has what I think is the Doug's Used Car Willys. He says that Wild Willys is on the door now, and has been since he got it almost 20 years ago. I still think it's the same car, and it looks to be the Antelope Valley car as well, but I don't think it was Al Tschida's (you spelled it right). One of his did go to CA., but his were '40's and had a glass 40 nose. Another feature of Al's cars were a full floating Chev truck rear end...I think 8 bolt hub..., which he duplicated on his recent copy of his old cars. I have a picture of Al's car when he brought it to CA, and sold it. It had C/G 612 on the door, green plexi, and a different scoop (that could have been changed).
The blond (hair and beard) guy in the photo looks like a very young Doug that now lives just north of Marshall MN., and was the guy that owned the car that my friend close by, now has with Wild Willys on it. As I said his name is Doug, and I can't wait to call him and ask about the Doug's Used Car name on the door. Get a couple more pictures of the Antelope car as well.

Here is another shot of the same car, I am sure they are all the same cars with different names. I will find more.

Ok, this first pic is one of Tschida's car with the full floating 8-lug rear. This is from about 64 or 65.
    Tschida64.jpg

These next two pics are the car that was rumored to be Tschida's car. The 8-lug rear is gone, but it could have easily been switched out for the more popular Olds/Pontiac rear.

Finally, we have the Antelope Valley and Triad Speed Center car. I don't know if it started out as Al's car, but the other green C/G car, the Antelope car, the Triad Car, and Doug's Willys all appear to be the same car.

G-Willys: Maybe your buddy that knows this Doug will be able to put it all together.

Well we know for sure Antelope Valley, Triad and Dougs Used cars were all the same Willys coupe.

  29. Wow!!!...they sure kept the sign painter and other painters busy...I will call Doug tomorrow, and see if we can shed some more light on this mystery.
I will take another look at the coupe in the pole barn too!

If you look close the C\G 612 car appears to have a clear scoop on it. Perhaps another clue?
