Okay, the engine goes, now onto something different. Filling bumpers. It's an old thing and people have said I should do it...and I agree. Cut out some shapes. The rear will get removable polished stainless ones because I have blinkers in there that will need to be accessible. Front are thicker material to be welded. It does look better. Now to the other one...
The rears will be like this, removeable for access to blinkers. They are stainless and will be polished. I'll tweak the gappage when I do the prep prior to plating.
They grey thing is the fusebox/relays. It's nice, compact and uses mini fuses. There's a flasher can and relay + circuit breaker on the black thing above it.
That is a pretty cool idea! Does that battery extend below the floor a little? Fuse Box eh, so how many fuses does it hold? I really like your nice and tidy wiring job behind that dashboard!
No, I made a frame from light angle iron and welded that to the floor. The battery clears under the seat easily. I investigated recessing the box, but there is a leg of the X member below. It has eight fuses and four relays. The auxiliary panel has the flasher/relay, a circuit breaker and another fuse. I don't have much in the way of accessories, so there are plenty.
To be clear, I'm not the one doing the wiring! An actual auto electrician I know is doing it. I'm just drilling holes, making brackets to mount things etc.
@neilswheels Battery spec from on line. The equivalent Full River battery is the same. Model 925 PHCA 380 CCA 500 MCA RC Min. 52 L-6.64 in. W-7.05 in. H-5.04 in. Cold Crank Amps: 330 Amperes Internal Threaded Brass Receptacles w/M6 Stainless Steel Bolts The curly thing is the temp probe for the a/c. You straighten it and poke it into the a/c unit once everything is in position.
Looking good, late to the party re engine start but congrats anyway. You are making good progress. Hope you are enjoying the journey
He's alive and well and making lots of progress on his sloper ... he just wants to stay under the radar for right now.
I can only imagine the amazing progress... hopefully he won't keep us waiting for an up-date much longer...
I was asking this a while ago. Didn't get any response. He definitely is one of my heros, for the metal miracles he can create. Thanks Special Ed
When I saw this thread pop up again I was hoping for an update from X38 on his sloper. I guess the update is that he's still alive and working on it. I hope we do get an update soon.
Rik just reminded me of Tony and his car. Where has the time gone. How is Tony? The car looks fantastic. Aloha
