Hi Mike, I thought so too. Nothing quite like a true Willys Gasser IMHO,

I just heard back from the current owner, Dave Weissbart.
He told me that the previous owner/builder/driver Bruce Frumveller hand made them
    years ago.

I installed a back up camera, rear license plate; wireless except it has to be plugged into the cigarette lighter.
Didn't have one so bought one/installed it; no wires to rear plate.
Also installed two Cadillac Escalade horns behind grill, used a heavy duty
    starter switch, mounted below dash.
Now I can see backing up, easier to park, right lane freeway traffic for lane changes, loud horns for the jerk at the green light texting.
New upholstery [including headliner] in a week or two IF the shop stays open.
    Staying busy, attached,

If anybody is interested, the back up camera was $159.99 at Back up camera 2.jpg Back up camera 1.jpg Costco a month ago, see attached.,

Am I the only one who has a bullet hole in a Willys coupe? Can't be...
    This was in 1995 with my sister in the car, the first engine I installed in it [sbc];
    rear fender replaced.
Note: right in front of the top door hinge, large caliber bullet hole,

Dropped the car off at the upholstery shop March 7th.
Get it back in a month, pretty exciting.
    Happy Easter fellas!

Got the car back from the upholstery shop yesterday, from heat protection to carpeting
inside my"secret compartment" and even making a pad between the seats for our dog Isky,
    pleased with job.
I see I have to clean the cage up a bit but seats are very comfortable and the car is a lot
    quieter inside,

Well thanks Mike, Thor and Jedd, always happy to hear good comments from "my peer group."
Glad you fellas like the car.
For sounds I bought a Bluetooth that works off the wife's phone and used a bicycle water bottle mount
that I merely zip tied to the cage.
So, it's removable, staying with the 60s theme, attached,

While I'm in the upholstery mode, I made a template for the upholstery in my 30 pickup.
Then had another shop make it in black tuck-n-roll.
The seat, kick panels and door panels were done at that shop, I installed them.
    Once I install the piece around the rear window I'll look into having black carpet installed;
and yes, I've got more cleaning to do.

Hey Mick. Do you remember who you bought the axle from? Or what brand?
    Thanks, John

AxiaAlloys.com out of Arizona sells a slick mount for those who have roll cages.
I bought a rear-view mirror at a swap meet 25 years out of an "old car" [$5].
The roll cage is really close to the new headliner.
This mount utilizes a 6mm allen bolt which I don't care to use so I ground down all sides of a 1/4x20 nut to fit in the pocket of the mount, new 14x20 allen bolt.
No modifications to the new mount.
Made an aluminum bracket to attach the old mirror, done.
    See attached,

We were watching TCM [Turner Classic Movies] last night.
1939 movie "They made me a criminal" with John Garfield
    as a boxer.
Around 15+ minutes into the movie I spotted a 1937 or 38 Willys coupe.
    That's a first for me!
Hit rewind and pause then took a few shots.
    So, 37 or 38? attached,
    Mick

    That's pretty cool, Mick! I'm gonna say it's a '38, I don't think '37's had driprail's above the door's. I could be wrong, though.

You're right J, I contacted some fellow Willys nuts and was told the same thing.
    Good eye!

It's funny how sometimes I can recall an obscure detail about an 83 year old automobile, but can't remember what the Hell I had for lunch today! LOL!!! o_O

"My office" is getting a bit crowded.
I installed an interior fan today, no AC of course so this may help with the upcoming
    summer weather....attached.
The fan, back up camera and blue tooth [speaker] are all easily removed if necessary.
    Just trying to make it a bit more comfortable for these local cruises;
working on getting our annual 4th of July Parade coordinated for next month,

I'll say, aside from the memory loss, working on the cars is getting harder and harder
    but still great therapy!

Cool...I love the the fat fender cars...I have two '38 Plymouth 5 window coupes, one has a slant six that moves along quite well for a six...and the other that I am still building has a SBC with 671 on top.
I have follow your Willys build from day one, Great build and good work.

You've got good taste Mike, I've always liked the early Mopars and of course the later ones too.
My second car was a 39 Plymouth coupe, in fact it was a business coupe and that's where I got the idea of a "secret compartment" [behind the seats] for the Willys.
So my teenage years were all about Mopars, something I'll never forget.
Glad you like the W, thanks,
    Mick

    "Shelter in Place" ride.
I can't stay in the garage all the time.
Drove over to a friend's house [another Willys nut] then to the park to take the dog for a walk.
Felt good driving the car again, ran good, no problems, attached,
