So...I was able to get some more parts from the car from the guy I bought the car from. Parts that were either from the car or intended for it. First is a fender with a '40 style headlight molded in. Sadly..just got the one fender. Another might show up...who knows? I also got its original grill. From what I can tell, it ran the original '38 grill, these fenders and just the hood tops way back when. The underside of the hood tops are painted red like the firewall. The '40 taillights and rear nerf make more sense now. I guess it was a mild custom-rod?

Also picked up a '37 hood Chuck had louvered and intended to run. He also got the original '38 hood tops louvered too at the same time. Same exact layout on both hoods. The louvers must have been done in the mid 60s or later..the '38 hood tops have primer where the louvers were punched. Love the '37 hood..

Lastly..a hand written note about what he wanted to do with the '38. Kind of wish some of that stuff was done..kind of glad it wasn't. Check out the business cards. Super cool stuff.

Funny that l was just thinking about this thread the other day. Keep us up to date on your progress. It's an awesome car, cool piece of history, and that Olds engine you're putting in is killer.

Did you pull that candy red Olds outa the boat yet? I’m curious what you’ll find inside.

That fender is kinda hideous, not a fan of the headlight molded in

    Bob...not yet...but will soon I hope.
Yeah..me neither. Glad Chuck came to his senses. If you see the earlier pics in this thread, you'll see the way he had it last. '37 nose..stock fenders and the louvered hood I just showed. Much more hot rod stuff..

Dave...it already has them...check out the earlier pics in this thread. The fender I just got was a curveball. There has to be period show pictures of this car somewhere.

Here's half of the '37 hood Chuck wanted to run on the car. I think its bad***...here are a couple shots of the interior while I was there. On both sides of the windshield frame down low is a set of holes..a bigger one in the middle and a couple screw holes above and below. Wonder if it ran dummy spots?

That upholstery reminds me of some cookware I bought for my daughter

She's into the mcm thing and said it was called serendipity, she was super excited to get it. I seen it at an estate sale and she said that was the most pieces she had seen together, I believe it's porcelain over some other metal, they're kind of heavy.

Picked up a pair of NOS "DragFast" style exhaust collector boxes. Man these things are heavy. Heavy steel and cast aluminum cap. I think they'd look great underneath the side of the front fenders. I don't when these were made, but I'm shooting for 1964 65 era with the car..so I think this fits in..
