    Hello

I am trying to find replacement key blanks for non original door locks on my 1938 Chevy. I looked on the web and consulted a local locksmith. No dice. I looked on key-men.com and could not find anything similar.

Attached are pics of the key and the lock. The key has 2 "spears" on one side and one on the other. If you look at the key from the end as if you were going to jam it in your eye, it looks like a W shape. Looking at the pic of the lock will also give you an idea of the key shape.

Does any one know what kind of key this is, or where I can get a blank?

    THANKS!

  2. You may have already looked at this link but if not take a look, they show hundreds of blanks. I didn't try to match yours but you might see something that would work.

Buy some new door handles. You get keys with them.

Try a different locksmith. Some only stock common blanks while older and bigger stores will have a bigger selection. I had to try about three or four places for a key one day.

  5. I find it hard to believe that a good(competent)locksmith could not come up with one of those key blanks. It looks to be a fairly run of the mill double sided key blank. The only thing I see that is unique about it is that it is cut asymmetrically which means it will only go in one way.It also looks like there are only two different depth cuts on it.
