I have a 38 ford truck, all original, that’s been running great the last couple of years
Yesterday I went to go for a ride & this knocking noise popped up
So I took the floorboard out and started it up and no noise. Until I pushed in the clutch
I replaced the clutch a little over a year & it’s been smooth as silk. Need help. The wife is hiding all sharp objects

If the knocking isn't in the engine, you're description points to a potential throwout bearing or clutch problem.
Might first check to see if any clutch related bolts have backed out, rubbing something or allowing flex where there shouldn't be when the clutch is being disengaged.

    Good luck!

One of the springs in the disc may have fallen out. With pedal depressed the disc will stop turning with the rest of the clutch causing the spring to hit the pressure plate.

Did you check to see if the pivot ball bracket on the frame didn’t break. My dad was piss off at me thinking I was guilty of “ RIDING THE CLUTCH “ and we were in for a clutch job on his truck. We sat and downed a six pack together when he realized it was the Machine not me. My two to his four!
