I restoring my 38 ford pickup and have a question about the paint.

I see that it was an option in 38' to order the truck with factory pinstriping.

See this picture (its a model car)

Have anyone a idea about the dimensions of the striping ? (is it 1/2 ich or 3/4 ???)

I cant check it out with my own car, it was very rusty at the sheet metal and there was no pinstriping.

    thanks in advance,

The stripes would have been hand applied with a brush in '38. No plastic stripe kits then!
Probably closer to 1/8" than 1/2!

thanks, i talk with my painter about the stripes and he will first spray the stripe color, then cover the stripes with tape and then spraying the rest of the car.

so we need the dimensions of the stripe before we can paint the car.

1/8 inch is close to 3mm (yes iam from europe, Netherlands)
