    BTT!

Hey Jack! So do I get the "Trader Jack" stamp of approval on the roadster so far??
Got more work to do, but I'm not far off from finishing her up!

By the way,...anyone have any definitive answers on the dating of these headlights I'm running??? (See photos of the roadster above in photos)

They're a BLC 904-? something,...I'll have to get the last digit or letter off of them. I know I posted last year a long while ago about them trying to date them and the best I could get was pre-WWII like 1940-41? Would anyone know?

JACK,...would you know by any chance? Ever see them before?
They have a little gumdrop gl*** bubble on the tops of them.

I don't know how I missed this the first time around... and I'm sorry to dig up an old thread, but this right here is THE best thread I've seen on the HAMB (no offence to anyone else, there have been many GREAT reads but this tops my list!)

Jack, I just want to thank you for taking the time to tell us your stories. For those of us who never came CLOSE to living it (I'm 22, a far cry from the 'golden age' of hotrodding!) this is a real treat. REAL HISTORY being brought to us by somone who LIVED IT. AMAZING!

Thank you so much, and I look forward to any other tales you may have!

There it is, folks, what I believe to be the instigator of the Bucket T pickup. 1947

I built this on Bob Higbees ch***is, and used my flathead engine.

I am the driver, brother Hank , is standing there looking like the ladies man he was, and we enjoyed it together.

Now why do I think that? Because when I ran it at Mirage, none of the inspectors had even seen a pickup with a `12" bed and they made me run it as a Lakester instead of a pickup. Pickups had to have 36" bed.

Bed was chromemoly steel frame with aluminum sides, held the gas tank only

You will , of course, notice how immaculately it was finished, such excellent interior furnishing and, all in all, nice done! LOL

Notice the wonderful friction shock, center steering and all of the good stuff

They got to be taken between 1935 and 37 and no later.
