I am building a 39 Ford Deluxe Tudor.
Currently have Speedway dropped axle 47-3/4" to kingpins, reversed eye spring, and Speedway disc brake kit.
My question is about front wheels and tires. I put a set of junk 195/75R15 on the front but they are too wide to turn the wheels with it sitting so low.
Can anyone running this spring/axle/brake combo help with tire and wheel sizes?
I am considering a 165/80R15 tire and can get either a 4" or 5" width rim.
    Thanks!

I used the BG 165/80R15 tire on my 40 using a stock rim and it didn't hit when turning sharp. I didn't have the disc brake kit which might push the wheel out to far.

  3. The disc brakes do add width. I'm running a CE 47" axle with plenty of room, but I have f100 drum brakes.

The disc brakes are the problem. I used some 94-96 F150 4x4 rotors and GM calipers with 46-48 hubs to put brakes on a friends hot rod. Had to use caliper brackets that bolt to the back side of the spindles.
