Bill ( @W.C.Bartlett ) messaged me about the car. Stand up guy. So glad to know it’s still around and is appreciated. I look forward to hearing about it getting out and about again

This is really great to read the latest update, and know the car is still around, and being cared for!

  4. I am glad that my early post got things going in the right direction. I know that I saw the coupe at Half Moon Bay drag strip in 1957-58, as I went into the army June 30, 1958, and I was never at Half Moon Bay again until 2017. It is now again just a local airstrip for small planes.

That is great news Bill...we are near the same age...pretty young still...;)...please share that experience with words and pics when you dust it off, turn the key and get out on the open road again...I'm elated you are going to do that...you are very fortunate...

I’ll get it uncovered soon and snap some pictures. I really don’t know why it was such a hit on the show circuit. It really is a bare bones race car.

Simplicity is a beautiful thing...it is such a standalone in its construction...I'm really fond of it's black and white days but the present config is at a notable high in Showrod/Custom...

The other thing is the use of a big 6 and running as a Highboy, then half fendered...kinda rare and it wears it well.

Something else that's also special about this Hotrod is its connection to George Barris...Many times George is criticized for his Custom Work but to me this is a true work of Hotrod Art that left a mark to be continued...

Edit...reading the story again it is mentioned that Sam Barris was likely behind the work done to this coupe...

Bill...this is one of those situations that make the Hamb incredibly special...you chiming in and discovering a group who seriously revere it, research it, want to see more and now you are having a resurgence of interest in unleashing it's wild again...

In Hotrod a blast down any Strip is huge in delivering an ultimate rush in go fast...

Being a 39 Coupe is very close to my heart I'd like to build one very similar but more street based with a big 6...I'd consider that a huge milestone in my Hotrod life...
