I agree with guthriesmith and MM1693 !! Drive it and have some fun! Jag håller med de killarna! Kör den och ha lite kul!
Not any updates, been driving it some but now its fall/winter time so there will be some work done soon.
Glad you had a good summer with it. Love the car. Put my 40 on the hoist yesterday, getting ready for new clutch. I'm also gonna switch to 12 volt. Winter work!
Great looking 39. Mine still has a Flattie but running an 8ba with a Merc crank, juice brakes, a Columbia, 12 volt and electric fuel pump.
So, the 39 needs to be a bit lower in the rear. Now it sits kinda level and i want that speedboat stance. I got 2 inch lowering blocks and my plan is to use 4 inch instead, it's already hitting the frame in big bumps and i got about 2 inch travel to the frame now. I havent mounted the shocks yet because i knew the rear axle would sit lower than now. Started on a little kickup today, dident have any material with the right thickness at home but i managed to do some cutting. Im exited to see how this turns out.
Minor progress, made the upper and outer piece. Got almost 5 clearance in ride hight minus the 2 that the new 4 inch blocks will add. Might take some more but i will do the other side first and mount the new lowering blocks to se were everything goes first. Also there is alot more work to do the inner piece of the kickup and i need to take off the rear axle to get more room to work in.
You may have plans to address this on the inside and I am jumping the gun, but I would recommend adding an extended full face plate that goes over the outer frame rail and what you added above. Rosette weld and perimeter weld. I would not trust just a butt welded arch added on top of the flimsy C channel frame especially as you have cut out the X member part.
I will do box plates on the inside but I want to mount the 4 inch lowering blocks first and see exactly were the rear axle sits before i do that if I need to change something.
