Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 16ozSchlitzMan, Sep 3, 2011.

  1. I have a chance to get a complete 39 Ford front end (juice brakes)...axle, backing plates, spindles, bones, rims???, spring and shocks...is $400 and decent price...where I live it's hard to find any front end...

Be sure you are going to be happy with the wide five bolt circle.....or plan on changing the drums

i think they were a couple of years.....everything 37-41 is the same safe for the drums generally...if they are hard to find you have everything you need there......if you had to piece that stuff together you would clear 500 easy....dont try it....best to get everything at once then you are sure everything will fit....too many people dont know the years of stuff they are trying to sell

Everything 37-41 is NOT the same.. 37-38 has wide five and mechanical brakes.. 39 has wide five and hydraulic brakes.. 40-41 has hydraulic brakes and 5 1/2" bolt pattern.. I think $400 is high unless your going to use everything pictured......

Considering your location, it's a fair price. The cost of shipping to your location would be something to consider if you found a cheaper unit.

I drove by a house and saw them pulling the front axle out of a 37 tudor and paid $50 for it. It has disc brakes on it. It was driven that day

$400 is a bit high, I think . $200 is more like it. My guess is that the drums will not be useable

  18. Iif the drums are good...what should I offer...are the five wide drums hard to find.....also can you buy repro drums...I kind of like the looks of these..I plan on looking at this next week.
