    Hi all,
My pickup fan is too far from the radiator, where I can purchase the longer hub o spacer as shown in the attached picture?
How close should be the fan from the radiator?

Do you have the fan shroud?
2/3 of the fan should be inside the shroud.
Minimim gap between fan and radiator I feel comfortable with is 1-1/2”

  3. Try asking on fordbarn (https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4) but get a better picture and give dimensions. The one you show looks like a '32 which is the longest. Interesting to note the carburetor is a '32 (maybe 33-34) but the engine is '38 or newer. You are going to find out the fan/hub are one piece.

Thank you all for the responses.
The fan is about 4 inches away from the radiator. Please see the attachment of my pickup.

How long is the hub you have now? There is a long hub # 73-8600 fan (4-1/2" long) that was used on the 60hp flatheads but they are hard to find.

The hub is about 3 inches.
I just don't want to damage the engine by overheating. I am not a mechanic and I don't have experience with classic cars.

I drove my 66 chevy truck for 17 years with the fan 6-8 inches from the radiator. no shroud. It never ran hot

image.jpg @FECH , where are you located? I have a longer one ( messed up the mount though) you’re welcome to.
Let me grab a pic and a measurement.

I’ve no idea how to get this apart though, but it was on a ‘36 Ford PU.

Edit: I meant to add you probably wouldn’t use it, but it could be used for mock up.

I just wanted to hear your opinions. For now, I will keep it the same way and be aware of potential overheating. Thank you all !!
