Hey guys, Picked up a 1939 Ford Pickup, all loose parts. Was wondering if I could get some help identifying a couple of them. In the first picture below what is the clunky item in the middle? The others I know what they are. And what are items 2 & 3 from the top in picture #2? Not sure if I posted in the right place but thanks for any feedback!
Picture 1: don’t know picture 2: item 2 looks to be a spare tire mount with the running board bracket shown upward in the photo. The piece that holds the wheel and the rod that mounts to the pickup box wall are absent. Item 3 looks like a running board bracket. Hope this helps.
In pic#1 is it not a emergency/parking brake mechanism? Pivots and cable.....? Could be off another vehicle.
Looks like I got my numbers for the pictures backwards. In the verbiage picture #1 is actually picture # 2. Thanks for the help so far and sorry for the confusion.
The small pieces are windshield garnish moldings, the handle is an emerg brake handle, the panel is the close out panel around the steering column. The other pic is a spare tire mount for the running board. It is missing the other piece. @Bandit Billy can ID the rest.
Thanks guys for pointing out the piece that is the spare tire mount. The other pieces I am unclear about are items 3 & 4 in picture #1, the pieces right underneath the windshield garnish moldings.
Thanks for your reply kb! My hood has the hinges and I believe it's supposed to have springs on those hinges, but I don't have those springs. I tried looking up a hood support for a 1939 ford pickup that looks like that 3rd item in picture 1, but I struck out miserably on Google, ebay, etc. Do you by chance have a picture of it on a hood?
I believe that hood prop is 38 pickup. Goes on the drivers side. I have a 39 and it doesnt have that.
Thank you very much for those pictures 38bill & 51504bat! My hood prop looks like 38bill's even though mine is a 39, but now at least I know what it is and where it goes, thanks to all you guys. That just leaves the mystery item, fourth item from the top in picture #1.
