I have a 1939 Lasalle transmission that I am modifying to closed driveline, to go behind a Ford Flathead, and I'm doing the work on a 1938 milling Machine! I could do with some new parts (bearing races, throwout bearing sleeve, gaskets and the side shift levers) does anyone know of a supplier for this stuff? Maybe gears too?
I am going to use the 'Hogshead' of a truck transmission and a milled plate to connect it all up - there doesn't seem to be any of the old Offy adapters available these days...

do a search for offenhauser catalog thread here on the HAMB

there's an adaptor in there on pg41 of the pdf file that may be applicable (others on pg 40)

it is from Exeter auto supply, 559-592-2707 (HAMBer)

it is my understanding that no after market gears were made
NOS or used is what you will be looking for

Offy adapters are pretty much impossible to find. I've been looking for one for a couple of years now. I think Wilcap is making one now that is a modified version of a flathead to GM manual adapter or something like that.

Thanks for the information, I'll have to look for some good used cogs, although I don't suppose it matters too much if there's a bit of wear. From looking at some of the earlier threads it seems some Olds gears may fit as well.
