  2. Looks like there is plenty of pieces there that any number of talented HAMBers could adapt to a 39 or 40 ford.

Thats my first thought. Get a Ford coupe body and attach it to that beautiful front end

I don’t think the white spoked wheel is HAMB friendly.
I hope someone saves the front clip

I’d love to get my hands on the speedometer.

I remember a picture of a '47 Plymouth like my avatar in the Rodder's Journal a few years ago with that front end. Looked good.

Isn't this a 1940? I think '39 had the speedometer in the center of the dash, with the waterfall thing below it.

I'd love to have that front bumper, that's one of the early custom car bumpers and even rough cores are difficult to find.

There's really quite a lot salvageable here, I wouldn't be ready to call it the end for what's left, anyway.

    Hey @steeltoes
Just curious what part of the country, those pictures were shot?
It would be interesting to see, what the remains of that Zephyr

could be turned into, if it was in the hands of Ian Roussel, or
    Cody Wall's, or Jim Sibley.
    Thanks for posting those pictures!

I see a few great parts that could used, hopefully they will be. I'd bet that those guys would Love to have that for the starting point of a build. Thanks for sharing, steeltoes.

Years ago me and my boss put a front clip like that on the front of a 40s Plymouth we painted it red oxide and sold it to a guy in Northern California. Last time I saw it was it the vlv show in Vegas and it was painted black and finished pretty nice. Don't have a picture of it right now but I can get one later

  20. If someone thinks that is all junk then they are on crack. Most of everything there looks very salvageable, yes even the wrinkled door jamb on the passenger side.

Combine it with this Studebaker express pickup bed and make a cool hauler. FDC4B6DB-E353-49FC-A474-F63FF624332F.jpeg

Thirty years ago, I restored a 1939 Zephyr coupe for a Ford dealer. When I took it out for the first test drive, cars coming from the opposite direction were pulling off the side of the road to get a better look at it. Made me feel all fuzzy inside.

The car that wheeltramp brian and I am talking about can be seen on page 8(?) of Rodder's Journal #41 article about Paso Robles #27.

Brian, I bought that car from Aaron (?) it was totally badass and really well built and I enjoyed the hell out of it. It was perfect for me as all the hard work was done and I could tinker with it on the weekends. Unfortunately after the 2008 recession I had to sell it, broke my heart. Here are some pictures of how it looked later, the red version is from the guy I sold it to and the shiny black is how it looks now. I believe it is back east somewhere and has a few questionable modifications such as 6(!) 59 caddy taillights but it looks good shiny and they reinstalled the trim. 6437F54D-E671-4094-BA3C-5336C713C404.jpeg 23B59994-95B7-4CAA-8633-621A930F7CD6.jpeg

  27. The car in the original post looks like it had the “coupe” removed

Yep you bought it from Aaron as I didn't go on the trip to deliver it or if you picked it up I can't remember and we never met. It was a pretty cool car

I would put a bit of effort into tracking down what became of the rest of it. Sometimes other pieces are around the property, or on neighbouring properties etc.
