The striping wheels from eastwood or elsewhere would clean them up. Or a rust eating solution works also. I striped my whole 60 chevy sedan with the wheels including the rusty parts under the fin trim and it came out Shiny clean! Gary

Cleaned it up after hitting the rust some more, finally felt good enough about the metal to prime it up. Used an epoxy primer, then will do some filler where needed and then high build when the rest of the car is preped.

Great progress! DuPont makes a good product that we use at work. Not sure what is available to you locally though. Local automotive paint supplier should be able to point you in the right direction for what's available

Also thought I would mention at least for mine , when I bought the Pontiac only the body was worth salvaging. The specs on my car are this
front clip is 69 camaro with disk brakes (fit really well)
rear end is 70 chevelle with drums
I didnt have any of the drive train so I went with a vortec 350 from a 97 Yukon
    700R4 trans
adjustable suspension with coil overs front and back
The car drives really nice now and me and the family are able to go on long trips to shows that require freeway driving.
If you have any questions I would be happy to try and help.

^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^ I've had the pleasure to see this car up close, it's unique and highly detailed. It belongs to a young couple in their thirties who both have a real strong passion for these type cars.
