I need to get front shocks for a 39 willys coupe that has the original frame and axle in it. Straight stud at bottom and bushing at top. Anyone have any part numbers or ? can you take a shock that has the straight stud at the top and the bushing at the bottom and flip it over to use it or does that mess with the internals and it won't work?

  4. You cant flip a shock. I have a 37 Willys still running original front shocks, my suggestion is to modify the top mount to run studs on both ends if it easier to find those ones. JW

All of the Willys I've had with stock front ends did not have a pin on the bottom. There was a angle iron type piece that bolted to the axle next to the u-bolt with a shock stud sticking out towards the wheel and then you use eyelid mount shocks. I made many of them up and then got Jeep shocks, problem solved
