1945-1948 Alemite brand mechanic’s workbench or “service merchandiser” as they are also known.

This has been a labor of love to get what we have here. I originally found the main work bench portion and then shortly after found the matching correct side cabinets for it. Sadly, I’ve never found an original top for it so I ended up making one to give it a finished look and to act as a placeholder until I could find the correct part. The piece I made is wood and metal and actually uses some top parts from a different brand merchandiser which fit very nicely and looks period correct. No, it’s not 100% correct but 99.9% of people would never know it and it looks very cool.

This kind of stuff is very hard to come by. I’m only selling because I’ve got too many projects and have run out of room.

***Please note there is some rust on cabinet bottoms, and the very bottom cabinet sides and back. This seems to be very typical for these types of cabinets. I’ve attempted to show this in the photos. Please look closely. These areas could be repaired or left as is depending on your ambition and skill. They are all straight panels so if you have a welder and some time it might not be too challenging.***

Comes apart easily for transport. Everything is currently just sitting together for photos. Side cabinets separate from main bench. Entire top comes off. Should all fit in a standard 8’ pickup box.

Tool shown not included with sale.

I have lots more photos I would be happy to send.

    I am located about ten miles south of St. Paul Minnesota. 7FC275FC-15C3-4257-8F5D-E06BFAA793FD.jpeg 8CD6CB34-4289-4F09-9F24-03B98602B58C.jpeg F22C6D82-212C-4805-A907-79D681E7560D.jpeg 7976E713-DB8E-4FAD-93A7-8968D5351577.jpeg 8EE17C52-CC2E-44CA-80EF-E98FF1B276C9.jpeg 91D73D70-EACB-474E-8B65-0C207CFB4029.jpeg 6FF50565-36C3-44EE-A7FC-E61F6B3BE7B8.jpeg 38E4A6D9-7864-4467-8248-DF91330F2E64.jpeg
