This car trips my trigger. I love the color. I've been without a hot rod for a little while now. I keep coming back to this thread and dreaming about a 39 Deluxe or any 40 coupe. I'm actively looking but everything I find is too expensive or too much work. At my age I just want to turn the key and go.

Appropriately this thread gets bumped today as it's 40 Ford Day in Buena Park CA. I am about to start on the revival of my 1940 Sedan Delivery - it's been dormant for five years and enough is enough....

Here is the 40 from this area, probably early 90's. Sorry the picture is so small. This was pre-digital so I scanned it. Not smart enought to make it larger.

Jcurtisward, I love it! Beautiful colour. What suspension mods have you done to get the stance?

    Thanks!

All I've done is side leafs in the rear with 2" blocks, and in the front a dropped front axle and a spring with reverse eyes. I've been thinking about removing a leaf in the front to get it just a hair lower.

The "Bonneville Boomer" ... originally built by Doug Rice back in the early 50's, raced on the Salt Flats many times. Now owned and completely refurbished by Don Richardson ... gorgeous car !!!

I saw a post and I can't find it again. It had to do with aligning the fenders and hood.
A screw adjuster was built into the inner fender aprons so that the fenders could be moved up and down in relation to the hood.

    Can someone post the link?

That minty green colour on the firewall and sections of the fenders on the trashed '40 in post 296 above, is that a factory Ford colour? And if so, does anyone know its name?

  28. It's slowly coming together. Picture of my traditional 1947 clark forklift in action. Sorry for the non-traditional motor and temporary rollers. I bought another 40 coupe that has been in a fire. It has a good 40 flathead in it. That we be the replacement motor down the road. Bias ply white walls are in the works.

Steve38: I think that "minty green colour" is an orignal Ford hue. I don`t know what they called it though. About 30 yrs ago I was at a farm auction and there was a bone stock 40 tudor up for sale in that same green... really liked it, but had no spare bucks at the time.cool green!
