Features 1940 and 1939 Deluxe Fords.......Lets see em!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by junkmanjr, Jan 31, 2009.

  1. Hey standards are cool too. I've had a sedan. Actually of all the fat fendered cars I've had a 36 Slanback Tudor, 39 Standard Tudor, 39 Deluxe Tudor, 40 Truck, 40 Deluxe Tudor, 40 Deluxe Coupe, and another 40 Deluxe Coupe (the only one I have now).

I do really like the teardrop headlights and the crankout windshield on the 39s.

Like you, I have a 39 Ford Deluxe Tudor. Flathead powered, of course. To me, this is one of the most practical rods for a married man...with or without children.
    My reason for writing...
I am pretty new here and know how to start a new thread and how to reply to posts. My problem is, I'd like to pop a photo or two with my reply on this thread.
How do you do it? I will admit it, I'm a bit older....uh, more mature and computers are a bit beyond me.
    HELP!!...?????

    Click "Post Reply"

Click "Manage Attachments", This is in the "Advanced Options" box under where you will respond to a post, (where I am typing now).

A new window will pop up that has several boxes followed by a "browse" button. Click the "Browse Button"....

At this point you can select the file you want to insert, from "My Documents" etc. Once you have added the photos you want click "Upload".

Now the PIA part,,,,, Chances are the images are too damn big and will refuse to upload. If this is the case you will need to "resize" the images using a photo editing program.

Once the photos are at or below the max allowable size they will post. This part can suck, many cameras car shoot in a lower resolution suitable foe internet posting without resizing, but this is another story...

Damn, PM me and I will give you more help with this if you want!

By the way, I really like your sedan,,,, I want one real bad but my wife will be kind of pissed at me if I buy one before I finish the coupe,,,, I could live with her being pissed at me, but the fact is she is right.... damnit... this is great incentive for me to get the car done quick...

    You suck ChalkBoard!

I was going to see where you got your interior done,,,, I am looking for a similar style for my interior.

    Looks really nice...

  12. Thanks, I think.

Not as hard to do as you would think. Bought everything at www.yourautotrim.com including books. Used an old singer sewing machine that was my mothers. Total cost about $600. Maybe 50 to 60 hours. Not sure what a pro costs, but I'm not willing to pay them no matter what it is.

Since you ask, here's two 40's. The coupe was mine back in the early 60's and ran a 53 Chrysler Hemi long bell housing motor, and the sedan was my dad's who was also into cars and he too ran a 53 Chrysler Hemi long bell housing motor. He use to tell some pretty funny stories about the surprises he would give some young guys who wanted to race when he and my mom would be going to or coming back from the store. He was a real inspiration when it came to hot rods.

Here's my '39 DeLuxe in it's current state. All the crash damage is fixed and I had it out on the road yesterday. I just love this bodystyle. Mike

Great post, I've wanted a 4t for years but always been a roadster guy, I have a 36 and my 51 woodie, but one thing I don't understaqnd why do so many guys screw up the fortys dash and throw some crappy billet steering wheel on them , the dash and wheel (15"0) are what make a forty so damnm neat. What ever turns your crank I guess.

Oh well, I guess I will spam just a little,

My 39 is mocked up and will be coming apart next week, so I am going to post up a pic. The next pics will be of pieces for a couple months so I will post while the posting is good.
