1940 Buick floor shifter

    I want to know if there is a kit so i can convert my 3-speed transmission to a floor shift istead of a column shift. or if anybody knows how to do it, can you please tell me.

    My limited Buick memory tells me you should be able to swap your trans for a '37-'38 trans, from the same series as your car. If it's a 60 or bigger, good luck - several members are hunting them. Conversions for your stock trans haven't been available for many years, and were never common.

  4. See, now if you needed a '38 trans, I could get a whole car pretty cheap that has one in it. May not be able to get it out until like June, but it's there. Not sure what model it is but I'd bet a 40 series or 60 series.
