1940 Chevy Coupe HELP

  1. Got this Chevy that needs an interior, this model did not have a back seat, I would like to add one . So what seats front and back that you all been using

    I don’t know your plans but ours doesn’t have a seat either and no plans to install one. There is not much leg room unless the driver is short or the front seat has been changed to something less bulky. An option is “opera” side seats from a 40 Ford which fold up. Good luck IMG_4057.jpeg

    I modified a 2016 Camaro rear seat to go in the 1950 Austin. The fronts were the later Mini Cooper.

    You probably already know this, or realize it..... but you're going to need to remove the metal panel that runs behind the seat from side to side that made the platform for the interior cargo area on a business coupe, (which sounds like that's what you have). You're also going to need to relocate the gas tank, because on a business coupe the gas tank was located inside the car below the cargo area, with the filler neck exiting in the panel between the p***enger door and the rear fender. Five p***enger coupes, (which had rear seats), had the gas tank located below the trunk area, (like sedans), and the gas filler neck exited on the p***enger side rear fender. These were the stock configurations which you may, or may not, care about.
