I know the mag sucks most of the time - but there was a feature recently on a copper colored 1940 Ford Coupe with chrome reverse wheels and WWW.

I checked it our in a buddies mag - but I canot find pics or details anywhere on their site, or the web.

Any one have any additional pics/details of this car?

Specifaclly trying to figure out the rear end/wheel/tire combo, and possibly get an idea on the front end set up.

    Thanks

  3. I don't have pics but I do have the mag..... that 40 is awesome! I love everything about it. It sits just right and the wheels and tires look great on it.

    Anyone have pics to post????

Glad I am not alone in loving the look of that 40. What month is that mag - maybe I will just order a back copy. Thinking of a similar style for my 36 5 window, but in aztec gold flake.

    Gold, the new red!

BTW that car is not "street roddy" at all, IMO.

There are alot of good looking 40 Ford cars AND trucks in that issue. I read it and then reread it... finding more interesting details each time. I liked the idea of focusing on nearly nothing but 1940 Fords.

That 40 is featured inside and on the cover of the current issue. It IS a very impressive car, with probably the most tastefully detailed small block Chevy engine I've seen in a while...not just a quick coat of paint under a pile of 1-800-BUBBLE-WRAP stuff. Someone put some SERIOUS thought and effort into that car as a whole!

The cool thing about that magazine is that they feature several build photos of their feature cars in various stages of progress after running their feature photos. The build shots give you much more insight, and a closer look at a lot of the details on each car. The build shots of that 40 show the slick suspension set-up with bags on the straight axle! Neat stuff!

But as cool as that 40 is, I bought it for the article on Tammy Ray's flawless red 33 coupe! That car was one of the Great 8 at Cobo Hall last year and easily the best looking and most exciting of the bunch. I went by it several times each day to get a good look at it in person, and was stoked to see it finally get some ink in a quality mag! It's like a modern day version of tha famous Vern Luce coupe to me...a gleaming, sleek red bullet in the image of a fenderless 33! Perfection, pure and simple!

I think that magazine is well worth the price...the in-depth coverage of the killer cars is second-to-none!! Check it out...the cover car '40 is truly a sight to behold...but don't forget to scope that sweet 33 out, too!!
