In my opinion, Henry did it right when he did the '40. I wish I had one in my garage. Here's a couple more.

  19. My old 40, still kicking myself in the ass for selling it about 20 years ago is posted on page 2, Red one with the 59 Vette taillights.

  20. I drove this one to high school in 1957. It had a 1954 Chrysler 354 Hemi in it.

Very nice. How did you get the Merc caps to fit the wheels as the Ford axle sticks out too far. That always gave me a problem. Thanks.

Nice tastes! I thought it was mine. A friend in Idaho sent me photos of this car a couple weeks ago.

I always had the problem of the 40 axle sticking out too far and the Merc caps would not go on. Strange.

A 40 Std I did a makeover on for a customer. A proud papa got this from his son as a father's day gift a few years ago. I love the standard grille and these cars look best to me without bumpers. I wish I had the cash to buy it at the time. This is a cherry ,rust free western car.

  29. Now you're talking. I recall back when I was about 10 in 1960 or so and the Pravenzano Bros had a 40 Delux with a 354 Hemi in it. Something to die for. The 354 came out as a one year only in 1956 (I owned one back in 1967/8), 1957 was the year the 392 debuted.

mj40's - your `40 sure is coming along nicely, Mel. I just love the fact your coupe is coming back in black. We'll have to work on at least getting another cameo shot of it behind the current Firebird Raceway sign for "keepsake"...maybe Oldies but Goodies Drags the first weekend in June. Keep pluggin' and chuggin' on it.
