I have a set of what I have been told are '40 hubs. (they fit on top of the drum) I can get the drums for my hubs but every ford repro dealer I've called doesnt have the correct stud or a way of swedging them in. I found one fella but he is charging $250.00 a wheel to install the studs on new drums! Anyone have any suggestions on stud install, or what type of modern studs fit the best?

  2. You have 46-48 drums. 40-42 hub is behind the drum. The re-pop drums use 40-42 hubs. The swedge needs to be cut, the stud holes drilled larger to fit a modern stud, the new drum will slip on/off like a later drum. Call Richard Lacy at The Early V8 garage in West Covina, Ca. He does this all the time and is reasonable.

  3. **** Spardo has what you need. Give Him a call. (518) 861-5367.

The best way to go is with a set of the earlier hubs. You may be able to find a set of serviceable drums/hubs or just hubs with a HAMB want add.

Vaphead (Riley Automotive) can also get you a set of repop hubs and drums. Check the HAMB O Dex.

The later hubs, if they are in good condition, are used with Buick aluminum drums. You may be able to find someone who will trade you even.
