Hello i have a 1940 sedan. ive heard of people putting these on s-10 frames. i was wondering if it would fit on a ford ranger frame instead. i have a 86 ford ranger with a 302 in it and id like to use that frame and engine in this car. any help or advice anyone can give me?????

I have yet to see a frame that cant be repaired.
I'd advise you to fix what you have. The stock suspension and handling on these cars are almost as good as any independent setup.
Marry an old body to a new suspension and regardless what you do. You never can manage to hide it. More work than you can imagine.

    Like PeteJoe says ...

Keep the 40 frame. You could use the Ranger rear end under the 40 frame and install the 302 and transmission from the Ranger also.

The Ranger could be a good " donor vehicle "
Giving up the engine, transmission and rear end for the 40. A lot of the other small stuff MAY WORK also.

    :D

  4. Ya, What they said. It's a big job and if you half to ask a blanket question about doing it you probably shouldn't take it on by yourself. If your starting with Junk and just building a Klunker where fit, finnish, and Quality don't matter it could be a good learning experiance. Having done Multiples of this kind of "Stuff" for Customers (I get paid for doing it there way) I'd never do it for myself.

I'd stay with the stock 40 frame, go with a straight axle or mustang II
