you might already know, but aligning the front sheet metal/hood/grill can be a real challenge to align. great project.

THX--well aware of front end sheet metal alignment--have done 7 or 8--had this one together once already and close---fits well
Hope to get it going soon--doing it for a friend

  7. Pretty little car and I agree the color complements the wood. Rob.

Nice job on the A/c lines. Very clean. How do you keep water and dirt off the top of the battery?

19fordy--the inner panel curve keeps some out and after the fender is installed, the stock inner fender shield is modified to attach to the battery box, then over the top/front as well-has worked fine on alot of 40's and drove one all over the BIG Island in pouring rain on muudy and lava roads for two weeks with no issues-not real easy to change the battery but not that hard either.

  14. Hey Tim,
Any chance that you could do a thread on the 40 front sheet metal alignment? I know I can use that info.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas.

OK Murph--no expert for sure but sent you info on sheetmetal and differences on early/late fenders, etc. from what I have found doing 7 or 8 of these in the last few yrs

Olscrounger very nice build! I really like the A/C install and might try to use that on mine this winter. Could you please PM me with your tips on aligning the front sheet metal on these? Mine is way messed up and I could use any advise on how to get it right. Thanks Ryan.

40 Standard--here you go---still has cowl vent, still has glove box (cut down) with removable back panel to access ac relays, etc.stock knobs control ac,heat when done and charged rest of wires are covered--requires p*** kick panel to be angled in about 1 1/2 inches to clear controls-kick panel hides all hoses seen, even those on bottom rt of ac unit-is dyed to match cpt
