  3. Take some time to read posts on 40 Ford pickups, and 40's in general, on this site, and you'll find it's way easier to maintain the original ch***is, but upgrade it to ride, steer and stop better with simple parts.

Welcome to the HAMB from Illinois.
    Your 1940 project sounds exciting.
Is it ***embled or taken apart?
    Can you post a photo?
What is needed to get the current setup drivable?

Any Direction that is cost effective would be great. I just don’t have the money for a $6000 frame

I really appreciate your help. My vision is to just get it running and moving in two years . That was my finish time for now. I have a running motor and transmission. And all the gl*** for it. The big thing is the frame I really don’t want to put it on a s10. I got it off a really good friend that can’t complete it because of health issues so I really would love to get it running so he can ride init

hi...so my question....why do you want to change this around ?...nothing wrong with ranger...for myself its a ford to ford which is great....nothing to be gained by going to s-10...in my opinion....early toyota pick up ch***is work well also...very strong rear ends....ford bolt pattern...made for small block motors...ifs front ends...disc brakes...torsion bar front ends which offer instant adjustable ride height...i have used 85-86 short box toyota for street rods...just saying...other possibilities out there...for time consideration considering his health....use what ya got.....good luck and enjoy

The OP was here a week and has not been back since. Sorry, he's long gone.
