    Hello

I need a few tips on how to disassemble the 1940 Ford shock absorbers. the shock absorbers are still working properly and are tight. However, I have to bend the operating lever and lengthen it a little. to do this, I have to expand it - but don't know exactly how.

    Regards
    Matthias

The arm is pressed onto the shaft. It's a press fit, not expandable. Houdaille had special tools for this, and I bet either they sold the tools to the shops, or K.R. Wilson made some for the shops. If a guy was handy he could probably whittle up some puller jaws that could grab in the right spot and press it off with your regular 20 ton H press.
