I have a 1940 All Steel Willys. Trying to find the early history. It was a race car out of Chicago. Color was black. On the trunk it said " Boogy Till You Puke" It ran from what I understand a 426 wedge. It had a fibergl*** front end. It was in the magazine Hot Rod or Car Craft a full page articale way back in the day. From what I understand it then went to Oklahoma, then to Raceland, Louisiana to a fella named Eddy Fresh. He had it a couple years, then went to Alabama to someone else . Then Ronnie Sandifer from Hillside Streedrods bought the car in 91. Did a frame off resto, put a 354 hemi it. Sold the car to Ray Sider of California. Was on the cover of Rod & Custom in Sept 97. I traded a pro street steel willys project for it in 98. Owned till now. Car was used to make the Big John Mazmanian model by Revell ......A long road! I apreciate the help. This a great sight.
Can't help you with any history on the car but welcome to the HAMB. There is a great Willys community here on the HAMB and several guys and gals who raced back in the G***er days - maybe one of them will have something for you. Always good to see a real Willys. You might also try www.g***ermadness.com if you have not already done so.
sounds to me like you pretty much have the history are you looking for time slips or more pictures or?? tk
