Features 1940's period correct customs

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Django, Dec 8, 2009.

  1. This baby is gorgeous!! I think to make it 40's period correct, the lake pipes have to come off and the front end needs to go up about 1 inch and the ass needs to go down about an inch & a half (thats just my opinion on a 40's Kustom though.) Gorgeous car !!!

This is an interesting car, looks like a cut down sedan, must have been quite a project back then, do you have any other pics of it Rik?

JimmyB send me this great scan of the photo he recently bought.

Perfect sample of a 40's custom like you would see driving a lot in the 40's.

Not much has ben done to this car, but what have been done looks just so good.

The mild lowering, skirts, shortened side trim on the hood. Nosed, and hood made into one piece... And of coarse the so good looking one bar ripple disk hubcaps.

We need more custom car treads here on the hamb.
And the great postings that are already here, need to be at the top more often...
So Back To The Top with this one.. and there must be more old photos of early custom cars out there.

  29. What a wonderful thread ! I still remember seeing my very first Custom in '51 or '52. It was a '41 Ford black coupe with a chopped padded top, in town to visit a relative. The Guy's name was Spivey, don't remember his first name. I do remember that he was from California, not sure which part. He was extremely Kool, and he acted like he knew it too. I'll never forget seeing that Custom. Nosed, decked, and had to reach in to open his door. Wish I had a picture of it. This thread really brings back good memories...............THANKS !
