    Coupes at the dry lake beds just north of Reno. Scrapbook of Gino Icardi of Redwood City.
    Not sure the exact year. Very late 40's or even 1950-51.

    the coupe on the left is a "HOT IRONS" car , club member . cullen was also in the "HOT IRONS" , & our president talked to him awhile back !! good stuff .. thank you .. steve

    This picture of the RPU intrigues me.
    It may be from the 50's, I'm not sure.
    But look at the upper front waterhoses. FLEXHOSES!!!
    Been some talk about them not beeing period correct for old style Hot Rods.
    Any of you real experts that know when these ugly hoses hit the market?

    I don't think that rpu photo is '40s, based on his clothing, the front tires and the hoses.

    Actually I did not think so either.

    Let's forget about the hoodlum in to modern shoes. They look like something Paul McCartney could have worn early on there when I look closer.

    I'll compensate for this photo by adding some that screams 40's.

    absolutely love these 2....keep em' comming! thanks to everyone who put in the time to upload all the pics here...its becoming a manual on how to build a hot rod the right way! no offence to the 50's or 60's...
    makes me want a time machine real bad! wheres doc brown when you need him?
