Coupes at the dry lake beds just north of Reno. Scrapbook of Gino Icardi of Redwood City. Not sure the exact year. Very late 40's or even 1950-51. The great Pierson Coupe
This 5w at the back of the line has messed me ever since I see it in TRJ a while back. Does a coupe get any cooler?
Wow that one at the front of the line of four looks like a heavy chop.... That Pierson coupe is truly timeless. Thanks for all the pics boys.
Cullen roadster on flatbed. Dry lakes c.1939-40 Don Holladay Cad V12 roadster being unloaded at dry lakes c. 1939-40. Note hot rod coupe on left.
the coupe on the left is a "HOT IRONS" car , club member . cullen was also in the "HOT IRONS" , & our president talked to him awhile back !! good stuff .. thank you .. steve
I little contribution from the inner sanctum of the disc. This picture of the RPU intrigues me. It may be from the 50's, I'm not sure. But look at the upper front waterhoses. FLEXHOSES!!! Been some talk about them not beeing period correct for old style Hot Rods. Any of you real experts that know when these ugly hoses hit the market? Paul
Actually I did not think so either. Let's forget about the hoodlum in to modern shoes. They look like something Paul McCartney could have worn early on there when I look closer. I'll compensate for this photo by adding some that screams 40's. Gotta love the low one of Birner
absolutely love these 2....keep em' comming! thanks to everyone who put in the time to upload all the pics here...its becoming a manual on how to build a hot rod the right way! no offence to the 50's or 60's... makes me want a time machine real bad! wheres doc brown when you need him?
All these pics, be they authentic 40s or a little later, are absolutely priceless. Thank you to all who have posted them.
I can't believe it took me this long to find this thread. I need to stop working and pay more attention to the HAMB. Thanks for all who have posted pictures.
