Sorry if these have been up earlier. Some roadsters work in snow too, so I guess I need to buy a top... More
I wanted my 33 ford pickup to represent a gow-job pickup a serviceman may have built on returning from WWII in '45. I did ok except for 2 things...the '49 ford dash and I wimped out and used a T-5 in front of the '42 ford pickup rear axle...fun as hell to drive!

The more I look at this post the more I think the words "period correct" in the ***le are unnecessary.
The material that has been depicted in this thread is largely historical in nature. That is, photographic evidence of hot rods of the day, back in the 1940's. Back then there was no such concept as "period correct". These cars were simply what was happening at the time. To cl***ify all of that photographic material as "period correct" suggests there were a whole lot of hotrods out there that were not period correct. Follow? That is simply not so in my opinion. Such a qualification might have some relevance to a car built in 2010 that is similar to those depicted in those historic photographs but otherwise has no relevance to the cars depicted in that body of material. My 2 bobs worth.
i like the sayin .... "run what ya brung" . course i like "pre '48" also ...................... steve
I hate to say it...but coupesters are traditional too. I found this shot of NASCAR great Lloyd Moore's early race car.
This therad is meant as inspiration and historical refernce both new builds and true 40s cars are represented equally I think.. The thread is not an argument of semantics...While we're on the subject of semantics..."two bob's worth" has a whole different conotation.
I think we all get what period correct means in the thread ***le. I'd more more cencerned about the 'correctness' or accurate reality of ANYTHING in a Hollywood teen exploitation movie!
Wow...how am I gonna sleep now? I know Roadsters are all the rage, but anyone got any pics of Tubs from the 40's? Need some more inspiration.
