    ^^^ that little “T” has very interesting rear suspension. Notice the center “a arm” centering the rear axle. Shackles on cross spring look a little to vertical. Working on similar set up with coil springs.

    Other than the engine trans, everything else fits the 1940s time period parts wise. After being back burnered for several years, I finally drove it to town today. rpu.jpg rpu2.jpg

    I didn’t have the one barrels. I needed to use the adapters and put a pair of 81s on it.

    Couple of pictures pinched from the WWW, but I have seen this in person a couple of times. It is flathead powered and looks like it could have been a custom rod from the 40s, though it was supposedly built in the 60s. 1935-Ford-V-8-Speedster-Special-Auction.jpg 1935-Ford-V-8-Speedster-Special-Auction-2.jpg

    That 205 car looks a lot like Stan Hartles roadster that has been in his family since 58

    Thanks Jimmy! I wanted to figure out what the steering box is cause it's shot. I also wanted to know what the dash looked like as well. It still has the valley custom dash in it.. pretty crude aluminum thing, but all the original gauges but one are gone. Original steering wheel was always a mystery as well. The engine in it still has the Navarro heads, although it is a 3-5/16 bore x 4" stroke 59a block, which is cracked pretty bad and the bores pitted. We did however save it with irontite ceramic block sealer. I rebuilt the original 97's it had on it and straight linked them. Car is still really fast. We took it to RPM nationals 2024 along with a handful of other roadsters from the Denver area. Such a great time.

    I love this car and got the opportunity to see it at an auction. Built, like you said, in the '60s in Argentina (the same country those beautiful Pur Sang Bugatti and Alfa Romeo clones originate -- they've got some real craftsmen down there), it's essentially a phantom 1930s Ford sports car, combining the body of an Adler Trumpf with the chassis and styling of a '35 Ford. Jive Bomber did a good write-up on it for the Jalopy Journal blog.

    Hi, I am wondering if any of you firebreathing hot rod werewolves have ever seen or know the history on this car.. I have looked around at the low hanging archives and come up dry. A friend of mine owns this car now, he bought it from a neighbor in Arvada Colorado. He was after it for 15 years or more, guy would not sell it, you know the story. Guy dies, my buddy buys it from the estate. 31 roadster, 36 LB engine-eddie meyer 21 stud heads with pumps- burns dual intake (never seen a burns v8 piece, anyone) , 34 trans-front end and brakes-model a rear end-model a brakes. artillery wheels-dual sidemount spares-artillery centers are chrome-fattened up deuce grille-aluminum 3 piece hood-rear valance pan with sunken plate-39 tail lights-front wood lights-glue on center divider on heavy chop windshield-chopped roadster top and side curtains-40 steering wheel-32-34 steering box.. Nutty custom rod, that to me, reeks of so-cal craftsmanship-pre war. The hood-grille fab is aircraft quality, the style is very so cal-era of when you made your ford look like a Duesenberg or the like. Not much back story on account that the last owner died, however it is reputed to have been in the denver area since the 50's.. We just dont know.. I have the engine in my shop as it broke a valve on our last rip around. It's .070 over (which is weird) , lightly chopped flywheel and that about it. We are putting in an L100 cam, johnsons, 1.5" valves and zephyr springs. If you know anything about it, holler, otherwise enjoy..
