Not the simple Turbo mufflers I'm using... we are ALWAYS the quietest vehicle at shows.. Our intent was fairly quiet for trips in the COE and we accomplished that but cutouts may be in my future.

I'm really sorry you got cheated.

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine. Back around 1980, He took his 63 vette to be painted and****embled by a reputable dealership, a year later, nothing done, money gone and all the trim parts missing, I finished all the bodywork for him. I might have painted it too...can't remember. Brain is going, probably from breathing in too many paint fumes I guess. o_O

Good for the paycheck, bad for the project... Good luck with the 60 hours, hope you're considerably younger than me.

I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to do my own paint when it gets to that point. I have sprayed furniture and millwork for work, but have not done a vehicle yet.
I did talk to the local college and they have an autobody course, the instructor let me go to the class and watch and listen for free. I didn't do any spraying as I didn't pay for the course and didn't want to use any kids' materials or time but it was very helpful and worth the time.
The scariest part of it is the investment in materials and they keep getting more expensive, but I am not risking the body shop jail scenario or potentially losing my parts etc. If it is going to take forever and cost alot and still not be as good as you really want, I may as well do it myself...

I was able to get back to work on the coe about a week ago I am going to take the doors to a body shop for prep and paint than the cab. im making a cart to move the cab around at the body shop. Also taking doors to a media blaster. The body shop guy thinks my fenders are a little. rough. Has anyone used the fiberglass fenders ? I know a guy in ohio sells them. is There any issues. I was wondering how well they hold up at the step area. The truck im working on is a Chevy 41 coe.

Obviously, my fiberglass fenders are not also steps but I'm very happy with them. When I had a local guy widen the front set, he suggested supports underneath. I built simple round stock aluminum rods for that. I don't see why you couldn't do the same thing... Just add support to any areas of concern.

I took my doors to be media blasted about 2 weeks ago. The guy said they would be done in a week they are still there. I dont know if I should pick them up and take them somewhere else or leave them there. I can only work on my truck in the winter because thats when work slows down for me. Around here places get antique car and truck stuff in there shop and then they leave it sit there for years. Thats why I do as much as I can myself. Very frustrating.

Did he give you a new ETA? Personally, I'd give him a second chance if I didn't have an alternative handy. I guess I was just lucky with the few things I farmed out. Except for 1, they all came in on time and on budget. The one that didn't eventually got to it (coincidentally my doors) and was able to work around that late schedule.

I called the guy with my doors he said they would be done wensday that was yesterday and again not done. To make matters worse I got called back to work so if they get done I don’t know how im going to pick them up. The guy doesn’t take credit cards only wants cash. Nothing is ever simple.

It's been a month and. A half since I dropped off my doors to be media blasted I called the guy and left a message that I would pick them up done or not and now he's not returning my calls
I know the guy isn't feeling well but I hope my doors aren't stuck in his building forever

Well i finally got my doors back. I stored them in a spare bedroom so they wouldn’t rust till the body was ready for them B11D0B31-3FE8-4593-893A-1F69589A1EA4.jpeg
