Post a picture, do you want to drive or race the car. If you want to drive it, where do you want to drive it? Everyday, or to the store on saturday? Don't worry about restoring it as a stock vehicle. Search on this site for similar cars to get ideas, don't get gung ho on needing a new front clip until you do some research.
Definatley don't 'rat rod' it!! For now I'm going with late 50's era hot rod with my 41, but I'm still deciding on what to do with the front suspension since I'm on a budget. Good luck with 'er.
I think i understand the question. If the the front end is shot move up to a modern set up like a MII. If your looking for low $ check out the welder series. The speed way set up is good enofe. Pinto and it's clones will work and bolt up to this x member. Put V-8 in it! Chevy sets in there like it was made for it!! You need a 60-61" rearend with 3" lowering blocks ('41 springs) now get it running!!!! drive it like this! If you want to call it a ratrod fine, but keep working on it till it's respectable and safe. (ratrod should be a step in a project not goal)
i have a 41 olds business coupe friend of mine has a 41 chevy coupe i stayed with the stock front on mine and rebuilt everything except those crazy shocks of theres. he went with a straight axle from speedway and went the gasser way. both cars are running chevy powertrain and four link. so you can go about any way you want just figure out where you want to be in the end so it doesnt cost an arm and a leg cause you did it twice or three times. one more thing. dont put a ton of money in this car if you ever go to sell it they are not getting the kind of money a ford of the same year gets. keep that in mind and have fun.
