Do the floor braces weld to the inner rocker panel on a ‘41 Chevrolet coupe? Ive tried to find pictures image.jpg
My inner and outer rocker panel was replaced decades ago when the project was shelved. I have to replace about 12” of floor brace, I’ll be making my floor braces. I been procrastinating on the floor but winters rolling in and gotta keep busy…

I don’t know how they were from the factory
    But
I would definitely weld them to the rockers if it was my project

I've just checked on my 41 chevy coupe and as far as I can feel (can't see under there right now!) there are 2 braces in the door area ( about 1/3 and 3/4 along the door, from the front) and both have returns folded to meet the inner rocker which I'm ***uming are welded, why wouldn't they be!

I'm not recognising the pic provided which seems to show the rear seat riser and an adjacent door aperture, which leads me to believe you have a 4 door, right? Not sure if that would make a difference to the construction method, but suspect not. I have a body manual somewhere and will try and have a look, finding it might be a challenge!!

Edit, the ends of the braces deepen considerably once they are outboard of the ch***is rail going toward the inner rocker. They're much more substantial than just the severed top hat section in the pic. A rather more involved fabrication job! Makes sense for them to be like that to maximise the support of / from the rocker.

It’s a coupe…i just discovered the inner rockers and outer rockers were covered over with tin,,,im dealing with some one else’s hack work for 40 years ago…removed inner rocker to replace and will weld floor braces to new inner rocker Thanks… IMG_4695.jpeg IMG_2374.jpeg

  5. They are welded to the inner rockers. EMS Automotive has all the floor brace ends, correctly stamped. P/N 73, 74, and 84. Good quality products. I would tack all in place and check the fit of the doors before final welding.
