Technical 1941 Ford-Mercury Custom Ideas

I noticed a decent 41 Ford Sedan for sale locally yesterday. I don’t need another project, but I am a dreamer. I like to build them in the mind’s eye. What can be done with this model? Some say this model is an ugly duckling. Some of the 41 customs out there are just bitchen. Let’s see padded tops, grill treatments, hardtop, what about fadeaway fenders?

I think this is a good idea for a thread. Discuss a specific model. Let’s see how it goes. This type of thing could be done with any HAMB friendly car.

What a fabulous 41, a long-time favorite of mine in this era. This one is perfect!

 

My fav - the "mystery" Valley Custom coupe.

 

TheMoose did this photoshop for me. 41 Lincoln grill looks do-able. Put a padded top like arkihotrods posted, I gots my dream car.

 

This one is also a photoshop, but shows the padded roof on a sedan. Those fadeaway fenders just nailed the full custom look.

Are the grills on that yellow 41 custom made, or from another car?

Well, I saw it run this afternoon. Owner says he installed a new master cylinder but needs bled better. I posted on the “what’s it worth” thread in the classifieds

 

I really like 41’s. I have been eying the Tudor in the classifieds here lately but I also don’t need another project. I really liked the coupe that Jeff Myers built a few years ago.

 

Hey, do you have pics of the front and back? Looks like 40 Ford rear fenders. Could be a good idea.

Not a taildragger but some custom touches, chopped, nosed and decked, shaved handles, 49 Ford tail lights sunk into rear pan, 40 bumpers

 

I dig it phat rat.
