Projects 1941 Ford Pickup

  1. Got a little more time last weekend. Finished the upper air deflector (spray can f'ing wrinkled on the top panel), under coated the lower 2 piece panel, lowered the float in the carb and adjusted the hood latch. Started the truck and the rigid fan sounds fine, almost back on the road. Found a NORS Stant radiator cap.....test drive next weekend.

  2. I forgot to take pics, but I found some inserts from McMaster to attach the upper panel I made. They have a serrated edge that you push into (like a lug stud) the panel. I also cut out a small portion above where the latch hooks to, pushed it up and re welded it to raise the area. It made the hood latch adjustable with different size shims.

I made some shims to go under the grille support and on top of the latch to push it down.

    Nice work Dan...

  4. Thanks Scott.

Truck is cooling better whether it's the re-cored radiator or all the paneling, I'm happy.
