Looks to me like some donor frame horns and ..no reason to change the entire frame. Obviously the op isnt going to be doing the work. Maybe you guys could recommend a shop in his part of the world.
Phat Rat Love the Color of your 41. the cut out spot on the cross member is actually to be able to access the drain bolt on the pan. A lot of this is odd to me as I have never gone this old before on a car and always went GM power in my Chevy or Pontiac Muscle cars. I am used to working on 60s and 70s muscle cars you could also get parts for these cars at Summit or advance auto parts or even in the junk yards things were a dime a dozen. Ive always thought the old School Rodders were ingenious in the way they thought of to do things you really have to think about it. I just could never afford to go this route before. I will catch on soon and be up to par. One thing that amuses me is going into the parts store to get a part and when the high school kid behind the counter asks you the year and you say "41" or "55" they are totally lost on what to do. The exception of this front end issue this car for the most part is done. I plan on going back to the original gauges. Im figuring they are 6v and I will need a type of convertor to switch them to 12v but that is no huge deal. It already has an easy wire system in it. I plan on switching the steering column that is in it now to a stainless Ididit at the cost of a new one I would rather just go that way. I am going to pull the SS console and shifter out and go with a tall Lokar and maybe make a console for it. The C4 has some leak issues at the shifter I think the O ring for it is $7 and it is common Engine runs fine. My big upgrade for this year, just got shot down. I was going to 350 crate it 350th, headers, dual carter carbs, old school M/T valve covers, Mild cam and mild stahl. Nothing really major wanted to get past that 133hp from the factory that it has now. I know 350s much better than any ford engine. All of this will now have to be set aside until I fix the front end. I guess when I pull the engine and ****** for the work I will go thru them replace anything that needs replaced like gaskets o-rings. I cant stand a leak. and put it back in until I save enough money up to change the engine and set it up for SBC.
It is whatever was the first full-frame Torino, probably a '72. Possibly a Galaxie, I know those calipers were gone by '74. Salvaging the '41 ch***is depends on how much of the original ch***is remains, it can always be pieced in and updated from there with components that are made to work with it. Bob
update I have coming in a few days a full 41 frame. I decided to go from scratch something not hacked on clean it up por 15 it and then spray it with rhino liner replace all lines put a subframe in and another rear end while the car is still together. Once finished we are going to put the body on the new frame
