SORRY. IT IS A CHEVY. I have a CHEVY pickup with vin. # 5WB091270. I think it is a 1941, but with the WB, I feel it is probably a 1942 built in Sept of 1942 after the war started. What is your opinion. I only have the Cab and Vin. Tag. I forgot to go out and look at Pass door for a lock or holes for trim in the cab. I can later. Any help will be wonderful. <!-- / message -->
On my '40 pickup, the number is stamped on the left side (drivers side) frame, by the engine frame mount.
Here is what I found out about you pickup Serial # : 5WB091270 Mfg Year : 1940 Model : 1.5 ton (single/dual) Wheelbase : 158.5 inches Plant : Kansas City, MO You can check it out here http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/vin/vinbuster.html
Sorry I took so long to reply. I know it was built in Sept. The (09) in Vin. and the (WB) means War Board Vehicle, But if it is a 1940 that was before the war. That was my reasoning to feel it is a 1942. Built in Set. 1942 after the war started, not before. What is you opinion. I do not know if they built Military Vehicles before the war with (WB) in the Vin. Again thanks for your input. R3
I just checked the Vin. Place. That was Cool. I guess it was just made for the military before the War. I checked my friends 46 Vin Numbers on his Pu, and it came up as a 46.
