Why are 1942-48 rear radius rods the desired rear radius rod for a traditional hot rod. School me please???
    Thanks

The most desired rear radius rods are the 35-36 that are the heaviest and have the spring hanger in the rear. Of the others, 42-48's are heavier and have a web on the attachment, (shown) than the 37-41's. The 42-48's are shorter. IMG_4446.JPG

I understand the 1942-48’s are shorter but, does being shorter make them better? I’ve been looking at Vern Tardels book & it suggests 1942-48 radius rods. There must be some reason why the 1942-48 is recommended over the other years. Does anybody know why

It’s mainly because they are shorter, they fit an av8 or 32 ch***is without being shortened like 35-40. They are thicker wall than 37-40 too.

Check them out real close no matter which ones you use.......both of mine on my 29 roadster broke at pretty much the same spot at the back on the weld by the web.
