and it will be there for sure! Hope fully, I will have glass in it by then. Unlike the damn mainline... that was a cold ass drive!
Thanks! Between the chopped top and the skirts that car looks looong! Shoot, room for seven kids, the dog, the cooler, the wife, or girlfriend ,or both!
The wife and her girlfriend. Nothing wrong with that as long as you can get in there somewhere. Looks like you got some work ahead of you. I'll keep a check on this one. Subscribed. Looks like you got the keyboard problem fixed.
That does sound like to much work. I barely can keep one. Let alone 2?! I will hopefully be picking up some things today. Or at least hoping to get started on a few things.
Correction on that shop subject, his shop was never real, didn't have any permits or licenses, much less a shop. It was all backyard work, for a while his apparent shop was ran out of his 2 car garage, then a backyard for a little. The only thing that was somewhat legit was he had bussiness cards made up. Just making sure I'm not stepping on toes, I have no problems running a shop out of your backyard, it was just that his shop was just so shady, and it was just icing on the cake that it was barley ran out of a backyard. Anyways don't mean to hijack the thread
That's not that bad really. I just have to have the car large due to large family. I like the interpretation however. Good idea.
How the heck did I miss this thread? I'm actually working on two 42 Hudsons-one is a coupe and the other was a four door I bought as a parts car but decided Hudson needs a 42 version of a sedan convertible. Using this Buick as a guide. Have already grafted the convertible vent windows in, mounted the rear door outside hinges and have a 62 Chevy top frame that I will refab to make it a folding top. Both cars are farther along than when these pics were taken but I haven't downloaded any later ones. I'll be following this thread closely keep the updates coming! Rick
I will update as often as possible. Right now she is sort of on hold till I sell my mainline. Once that is sold, it will be to the floor with this one!
can someone do skirts and a blood red, maroon or even burgundy body color? Even drop it a bit? Tryin to see if it is what I was thinkin
can someone do skirts and a blood red, maroon or even burgundy body color? Even drop it a bit? Tryin to see if it is what I was thinkin
Here ya go, Shannon. Dropped it a little. I tried redder colors and it started to look like a popsickle, mainly because I suck at color blending. Hope this is close to what you had in mind. Eli
Kinda. Pretty close. Can we lose the side pipes to? Those are hideous and have to go! I am thinkin it is going to exit through the bumper.
Much better. I can't stand those damn things. Skirt looks good to. This thing is really startingto come together in my head a bit beter. Thank you again.
Does anyone have pix of what the dash SHOULD look like? And what do you guys think would look good in it? Right now she looks ok, but thinkin more 40/s here. Not so modern on the dash. Any ideas?
Ha! Saw your car listed on CL and wondered what was up. Now I know after tripping over this thread. Would love to have it...but Michelle just bought a '48 Ford Deluxe ragtop and we are FULL UP. Thank fivewindow johnnie for that. He has us convinced that cars are better investments than Wall Street right now... Look forward to seeing some progress on that Hudson. Don Mongomery used to race one at the lakes back in the day. I want to think that he had a Buick straight 8 in it??? That would be a good substitute for that 350. Then you can set it up with one of these:
Here are some photos of the dash in my '40 Hudson coupe. I am not sure if the dash is the same in a '42 sedan, maybe someone else on the board can handle that question. I hope this is of help to you...
You know what? I have a spare pontiac straight 8 w/ auto! Damn! Why didn't I think of that! You are the man! And yes, johnnie is good at that isn't he!
