That's why I had one, but that was 10yrs ago. Everybody wonder why I would own such an ugly truck. Told them it was cheap & ugly. Shit the ugly ones need loving too
I voted for a chevy because they are the less ugly of the three but if I had a choice i would take a ford and put a 40-41 sheet metal on her!!
Dodge?! Man those things are U.G.L.Y. You can take that Dodge truck downe to T.J. Leave it for a month with the keys inside. Go back at the end of the month and that thing will still be there, untouched.
I have owned one of each well that's not entirely true I've owned 2 F1s and one was a '47. My '46 Chebby was actually a '41 but the same truck. I just like the dodge, if you could find a Canadian the front end was uber cool. Hey what does uber mean anyway?
Cool is the whole truck plastic or just the snout? I like it all smoothed off like that. A little ductwork and you got a real B-Ville lookin' truck that you can drive.
As I said before, they are all Fuggin Ugly! but I didn't think about the one I'd really pick for 1946 - WILLYS
Well I started out with an all steel truck then got caught up in the lightweight glass thing. So the front clip, running boards and rear fenders are all glass.
uber adjective ideal, prefix meaning "super-" He's an uberfabricator. adverb very; really; extremely. That car is uber low
In stock form I like the chevy the best. Like all the chrome and the lines of the firewall. The dodge, well it looks like a Dodge. Ford is kinda ugly neat. Had a 46 or 47 Stude. It definately so ugly as to be neat. They used the same fender front and rear, bed was shallow looked more 30 than 40's. But when its got a hemi under the hood who cares if she's homely............
I've always liked the look of the Power Wagon, it ain't no hot rod but it's brutish like a work truck should be. The Chevrolet has the flowing lines that are a great transition from the trucks of the 30s to the trucks of the 50s. The Studebaker has the smooth look of a truck with minimal trim, and compared to other trucks of the era, it looks like it has a factory chop. The International has a great look, with fender-integrated headlights and minimal trim; its grille is like a lot of tasty icing on a scrumptuous cake.
The reason why the Studies look so different is that they used passenger car doors of the same era on them. This gave them a more raked windshield angle and a lower greenhouse. They also used the same fenders on the front and rear - a look I don't find too appealing. These things were done to cut production costs. I personally like the Willys pickups of the 30's and 40's - along with my '46 Ford.
