They go out this week, all ready for shipping. Then it's up to the mail people.

Here's the other angle, still need to mount the turn signal switch and will probably mount the tachometer on the column too.

I plan on making a more elegant shift arm too, more of a swan's neck.

The dash looks great but not to keen on the black steering wheel and shifter. In my opinion, the steering wheel and shift knob would look good Cream or light Tan and the shifter chrome. Don't have a cow guys, just giving a little creative input to Mr. Hank.
Keep up the good work man.

No cow and my apologies for flyin off half cocked... I am more than a little defensive of that old girl.

The wheel I like, not my style either, the shifter was a quick fix compared to the old hurst stick I had in there. I don't like it either.

I can't wait to see what he does next.

Aaron, the little nob on the front is the wind up knob, clock wise it will click til it stops. IF it already is wound up, then it needs to be "unstuck" from the inside. It happens, they get over wound and then break. You will have some that work soon......MMMuuuahhahhaa

jcmarz I completely agree with you.
When i get around to restoring this wheel (its badly cracked and worn) it will be painted an ivory color to match the dash knobs.

I will be changing the shifter and I'm waiting for the perfect knob to come along to put on it. Ivory bakelite would be perfect. :D

I can't decide if I like the tach on the column... and I will be changing
out the temp guage in the lower corner for a vintage SW

Jaws, it's cool man and you did a great job on the chop. Just right, not too radical. Hope you post some photos of your next project.:)

Hooray for the new column! Working the gate at a big local traditional show, I can't tell you how many cars I saw that were ruined by tilt columns. Some even with the S-10 steering wheel still attached. Those and high backed headrest bucket seats.

I'm planning my '47 Olds coupe build for the winter which will be very similar to your Chevy, so I look forward to your updates.

  18. Now that is funny !! You said it perfect..........RUINED !!

More small updates before the bodywork starts..

Made a new shifter for it, I think it looks a bit more correct and its a lot easier to use. I just ground it to bare metal to imitate chrome for now...

Finally got the exhaust run out under the bumper with some 18 inch glass packs, still need to weld on the pencil tips. Man this thing is LOUD

I will be taking off the hitch too...

You'll notice in this picture I finally got it registered in NV with my grandpa's old plates. When I move to California I will be getting some late 40s black and yellow plates.

As I was waiting at the muffler shop I noticed this pamphlet... I dont know guys....
I'm kinda considering it.... hahahahaha NOT! :O

I'll see if I can upload a video.

It nice, when you're getting on it, it raps and is loud as hell, then you get into 5th cruising at 70 mph and you can't hear the pipes at all. No more drone like before.

Also, I figured out that on the back tires its the valve stems leaking air. Sprayed some cleaner on them and it bubbled around the stem.

Seriously? I can't tell if you're joking or not. You just pull the knob out and wind it back and forth...

Finally unbolted the skirts.. Jeez Brant dont you ever wash your whitewalls??

I'm now onto the long task of filling all the unwanted trim holes...
I will be putting skirts back on it asap, just getting the kind with proper clips so I dont have to unbolt them.. which is a royal pain.

Basically finished the rear fenders, just need to smooth them out now.
I will most likely be molding the fenders to the body...
