    Hi To All ,
Ok All You 46 Ford Coupe Experts..
Whos Right The DMV Or Me ???
My local DMV tell me that there should be a frame number stamped on the frame rail on the LH side facing up for easy identification,
If this is correct i cannot find a number anywhere on the LH or RH top side,
What would it start with, letters ? or numbers,
Could the DMV possibly be wrong ? LOL
Is there a frame number at all ?
If so where would it be ?
The DMV is giving me greif on this, so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated and get them off my back.

    Thanks in advance

It should be located on the LH frame rail somewhere between the front cross member and the steering box. It often requires a lot of s****ing/cleaning to find them. Rubbing the area with chalk will sometimes help to bring them out. There will be a star at the beginning and end of the number. The first three characters should be 99A (for V-8's), or 1GA (for 6's). Hope this helps.

Your ch***is should be Canadian sourced and will NOT have serial number in the USA Ford series. Locations for stampings may well be different...they were in earlier years.
Earlier V8 Fords carried low serial numbers with a prefix...each batch got a different prefix and a new set of serial numbers, while Ford USA started each engine series at one and carried the series along for years, resulting in very high numbers. You need to find some specifically Canadian info...I'd put something about Canada in thread ***le to attract the Eskimos.
