If you cannot get the engine un-siezed, then I would believe that the block is unuseable. I had an Olds 371 that had two massive cracks in the back cylinders, which made the block toast. What I did to remove the transmission was torch the bell housing where I could get to the torus cover/flywheel nuts. In your case you may just want to cut the extended bell housing off the block. Another approach, if you can get the rod caps off is to remove the crankshaft with the transmission, but that might be highly unlikely with a seized block.

I would post this over at the Cadillac-Lasalle web site, they have a forum similar to this one,lot of knowledge there for caddy problems, free to join, might be worth a shot. Harvey

Does the early Hydro have the same torus connected to the flywheel as later Caddy/Olds motors? If so, I had to get the flywheel turning on my stuck motor to disconnect. I did this by cutting the connecting rods to free up the crank to spin.
