Thinking about electric a wiper motor for my 47 Fleetline just curious if the 250 dollar price is about normal? Or any info on these kits
I just installed New Port Engineering on my 56 Ford. They work great. I e-mailed them with changes I would make to the instructions that made it ezier for me on our car. With the extension I needed for the switch it was a little bit more but to me well worth it. In the world today you get what you pay for and it's one job I don't want to do again.
I bought a Newport Wiper for my 46 Olds as it's the same as the 47 Chevy set up. It's a bolt up kit so they've done their homework for you..
What's wrong with the original vacuum wipers? They are traditional, and work OK when the vacuum motor is working correctly.
That video is cheating...dash is out.... BJR... then you keep them. others upgrade, kinda like radial tires...
I used a rear wiper motor out of a Ford Explorer or escape small with a high/ low setting Fabbed a bracket Bought a switch and mounted and wired it. Worked great . But for $250 and all the thought and headaches done for you ... then do it I had about $100 bucks in my install and a few weekend hours to get it all installed.
Newport's knob is ugly, so you have to have a machinist friend who can make a nice looking knob and then you have a good working and looking wiper motor.
